Set up your objectives accurately to ensure your predictions are scored against the most relevant industry benchmarks and recommendations.
Why Objectives Matter
Your selected objectives—Purpose, Industry, and Use Case—determine how Neurons AI evaluates your creative and what benchmark data it compares it to.
Correctly setting these ensures:
- Your predictions are benchmarked against similar assets.
- You receive meaningful AI-generated insights.
Your Neurons Impact Score (NIS) is calculated in a fair and contextually accurate way.
Autodetected Objectives with AI
Neurons AI uses a vision-language model to autodetect the purpose, industry, and use case of each creative as it's uploaded and analyzed. This streamlines the workflow and helps you fast-track insights.
However, this detection is based on general asset patterns and may not always reflect your specific creative.
✅ You can always review and edit the objectives manually to ensure the most accurate and relevant benchmarks and recommendations are applied.
We recommend checking the objectives before moving to the next step, especially if your creative serves a niche or multi-purpose campaign.
How to Set Objectives in the Neurons AI Platform
You can set or edit your objectives directly in the Prediction Detail View:
- Click into any creative (image or video) to open its prediction details.
- In the Objectives section (top right), review or edit:
- Purpose: Branding or Conversion
-
- Industry: e.g., Automotive, FMCG, Retail
-
- Use Case: e.g., Paid Social, Display Ads, Out of Home
Find all the definitions of the objective categories here: purpose definition; industry definition; use case definition
- Use the dropdowns to select the best match for your creative. You can:
- Expand categories to view subcategories.
-
- Choose one of the “any” categories for a general benchmark (recommended for non-represented types).
- Process to the next step to set your Areas of Interest and calculate the Neurons Impact Score and insights.
You can also set the objectives of multiple assets directly in the folder view:
- Select all the creatives you want to set objectives for by clicking once on each of them
- Set the objectives from the panel on the right side and confirm to generate the NIS for all creatives selected.
Understanding Neurons AI Categorization
Rather than assigning benchmark data by brand, Neurons AI classifies each creative individually based on visual and contextual content. This ensures:
- Benchmarks stay relevant to the asset, not just the brand.
- A brand with diverse assets (e.g., a travel company promoting food delivery) can be appropriately benchmarked in different categories.
Benchmarks reflect performance within specific content types—such as FMCG Video for Conversion or Social Media Image for Branding.
AOIs and Benchmark Granularity
When you draw or confirm Areas of Interest (AOIs) on an asset, you activate AOI-level benchmarks if you set the AOI type:
- These are matched to AOI types (e.g., Branding, Product, Headline Text, CTA and Body Text).
- The AOIs will be used in the NIS to assess the predicted impact.
Summary Tips
✅ Always confirm or edit objectives for each asset.
✅ Choose the most specific category available.
✅ Use AOIs to unlock detailed insights.
✅ Trust AI to guide you—but refine manually for the best results.
