Manual AOI Tracking for Video
Track exactly how much attention is paid to every specific element.
This update brings the full power of our image analysis capabilities to video and mixed media, allowing for unprecedented granularity in how you measure attention.
Whether you are testing a TikTok ad, a TV commercial, or a screen recording of someone scrolling a website, you can now track exactly how much attention is paid to every specific element.
Here’s a short video to show you how it works:
What’s New?
Previously, video analysis was limited to automatically detected brands. With this update, you have total control:
- Manual AOI Drawing: Draw an Area of Interest (AOI) around any element in a video on any frame, just as you would on a static image.
- AI-Assisted Tracking: Once you draw a box, our new AI models track that object as it moves, disappears, or reappears throughout the video.
- Expanded AOI Types: We’ve added four new benchmarked AOI types for video: Product, CTA, Headline Text, and Body Text. Want to track something unique? Use the "Other" label to get raw attention metrics for any element that doesn't fit a standard category.
Key Benefits
- Precision Insights: The Neurons Impact Score is now significantly more accurate for video because it can now account for all key creative elements, not just branding.
- Benchmarking: Compare your video’s Product or CTA performance against industry standards.
How to Use the Video AOI Editor
1. Drawing & Labeling
Navigate to the new AOI editor view either by setting up a new asset, or by navigating to the AOI page and clicking “Edit AOIs'.” Click and drag to draw a box over the element you want to track (e.g., a product key visual). A pop-up will ask you to:
- Select AOI Type: Choose from Branding, Product, CTA, Headline, Body Text, or Other.
- Name your AOI: Give it a specific name for your reports.
2. Refining, Clipping & Editing
The AI will automatically attempt to follow the object across the timeline.
- Timeline Indicators: Look at the trackbar below the video to see where the AI has successfully tracked the object.
- Adjusting & resizing: You can also resize AOIs on any frame by clicking on the AOI and dragging the selection handles and clicking Done to trigger recalculation.
- Clipping & Removing: If an object moves off-screen and the tracking becomes "loose," you can split the tracking segment at the current frame by clicking the scissors icon and delete the sections where the object isn't visible.
- Existing AOIs: If the same object reappears later in the video, simply draw a new box and select "Existing AOI" on the pop-up panel and choose the AOI you want to add it to, to keep your data unified.
3. Calculating Results
Once your AOIs are set, click Calculate Score. The platform will generate updated insights and recommendations based on the specific elements you’ve tracked.
