Learn how to enable the Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) for your or your company's account
Overview
To enhance security, Neurons AI now requires Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to be set up using an authenticator app. MFA adds an extra layer of protection by requiring a time-based one-time password (TOTP) in addition to your regular login credentials.
What’s Changing?
- MFA is now only supported via an authenticator app (SMS-based authentication is no longer available).
- Existing users with MFA enabled will be automatically prompted to set up TOTP authentication upon their first login after this change.
- Users belonging to companies that have MFA enabled will be required to scan a QR code and enter a verification code during their login setup.
- Users who are not required to enable MFA can still set it up manually in their Security Settings.
How to Set Up MFA
For Users in Companies with MFA Enforced
If your organization has MFA enabled, you will be prompted to set it up during your first login after the change:
- Log in to Neurons AI.
- A setup screen will appear with a QR code.
- Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code.
- Enter the 6-digit verification code from the app into Neurons AI.
- Click Verify to complete the setup.
- From now on, you will need to use the authenticator app for login verification.
For Users Who Want to Enable MFA Manually
If MFA is not required by your company but you want to enable it for added security, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings in Neurons AI.
- Navigate to the Security tab.
- Locate the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) section and click Enable MFA.
- A QR code will be displayed. Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code.
- Enter the 6-digit verification code generated by your authenticator app.
- Click Enable to activate MFA for your account.

Troubleshooting and FAQs
What if I lose access to my authenticator app?
If you lose access to your authenticator app, you will need to reset your MFA. Contact your Neurons AI support team for assistance.
Can I use multiple devices for MFA?
No, MFA is tied to a single authenticator app. If you need to switch devices, disable and re-enable MFA in your Security Settings.
What happens if I enter the wrong MFA code?
If you enter an incorrect code multiple times, your account may be temporarily locked for security reasons. Wait a few minutes and try again or reset your MFA if needed.
