Setting Up Single Sign-On (SSO) in Neurons

SSO makes logging in easier for larger teams.

If your team is managing account access through an identity provider (like Google Workspace or Microsoft), you can now bring that same one-password simplicity to Neurons.

SSO is available for all Neurons customers as an add-on feature and can be enabled quickly with the help of your IT team.

What is SSO and Why Should You Use It?

Single Sign-On (SSO) is an enterprise-level authentication feature that allows your team to securely access Neurons AI using their existing company credentials. Instead of creating and managing separate Neurons passwords, your employees simply sign in via your organization’s identity system — just like logging into their Google Workspace or Microsoft Entra ID account.

Why is SSO valuable?

SSO isn’t just about convenience — it gives your IT and security teams the tools to manage user access efficiently and securely:

  • Centralized Access Control: Easily grant or revoke access from a single system.
  • Faster Onboarding & Offboarding: No need to create or delete individual Neurons accounts.
  • Better Security: Control password policies and enforce multi-factor authentication from your identity provider.
  • Consistent User Experience: One login across multiple business tools.

SSO is a powerful way to scale your Neurons workspace securely, especially across large teams or departments.

How Does the SSO Setup Process Work?

Setting up SSO in Neurons is a one-time configuration process that we support step-by-step with your IT team. Here's what to expect:

Step 1: Prepare for Setup

  • We start by collecting your company's current Neurons account data, including:
    • All user email domains
    • Associated companies within Neurons
  • We then confirm whether you want to enable SSO for a single domain (e.g., @yourcompany.com) or for multiple domains (e.g., @yourcompany.co.uk, @yourcompany.fr).

🔒 Please note: Enabling SSO will move your users into a shared “SSO company workspace”. This ensures all users under the SSO domain have access to the same Neurons content.

Step 2: Create the SSO Connection

Depending on your setup, we will:

  • Assign a “primary” company to hold the SSO connection, or
  • Create separate company workspaces for each domain under SSO
We’ll then send your IT admin the necessary connection details:
  • Identifier (Entity ID)
  • Reply URL (ACS URL)
  • SAML setup instructions for either:
    • Google Workspace
    • Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory)

Your IT admin will:

  • Create an application in your Identity Provider
  • Send us the SAML metadata (either a link or XML file)

Step 3: Finalise and Enable SSO

Once we’ve received your metadata:

  • Our team configures the SSO connection on your Neurons workspace
  • We confirm the list of affected user email addresses
  • Your IT team ensures those users are provisioned in your Identity Provider
  • After your green light, we enable the SSO login

Your team can then begin logging into Neurons through your company’s secure login page — no additional passwords needed.
