How to Use the Folder Sidepanel

The Folder Sidepanel gives you quick, personal access to the folders you use most. It sits on the left of your screen and lets you bookmark folders, browse subfolders and search, all without leaving the page you're on.

This article covers how to show and hide the panel, bookmark folders, and use the search function.

What's in the panel

  • Bookmarks: folders you've pinned for one-click access.
  • Folders and subfolders: browse and expand your full folder structure.
  • Search: find a folder by name.

How to show or hide the panel

Click the panel icon next to the home icon at the top of the page to expand or collapse the panel.

How to bookmark a folder

Bookmarking pins a folder to your side panel so you can jump back to it without digging or searching.

Option A: From the folder tree

  1. Open the side panel.
  2. Hover over the folder you want to bookmark.
  3. Click the star icon that appears.

Option B: From the three-dot menu

  1. Click the menu on any folder (in the folder tree or the main folder grid/list).
  2. Select Add Bookmark.

Bookmarking multiple folders at once

  1. Select multiple folders by holding shift (as you would for other bulk actions like Download or Compare).
  2. Click Add Bookmark in the menu that appears at the top of the page.

To remove a bookmark, use the same hover or menu options and select Remove Bookmark.

Bookmarks are personal

Bookmarking a folder only changes what you see in your side panel, it doesn't apply to the rest of your company, so your teammates won't see your bookmarks.

How to search folders

Use the search bar inside the panel to quickly find a folder by name.

Expanding the folders

Folders with subfolders show an arrow you can click to expand or collapse them in place, so you can drill down without leaving the panel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bookmark individual files, not just folders?

No, bookmarking currently applies to folders only.

What happened to the Recents page?

It's been replaced by the general folders view plus the new side panel. Since Recents showed company-wide recent uploads rather than your own activity, the side panel's personal bookmarks are designed to be more useful for quick navigation.
